Group Wellesley, Inc. is a Pittsburgh, PA-based firm providing technical writing, training, interface design, XML publishing, and usability testing services. We are dedicated to helping our clients create, manage, and deliver highly usable technical documentation using appropriate tools and technologies. Group Wellesley was founded in 2000 by Alan Houser and Mary Louise Ray.

Alan Houser

Alan Houser is co-founder and president of Group Wellesley, Inc. and a distinguished consultant and trainer in the fields of XML, XML technologies, publishing workflows, and authoring and publishing tools. He is a certified instructor in Adobe FrameMaker.

STC FellowHouser is a Fellow of the Society for Technical Communication and a popular presenter at technical communication conferences. He has presented at conferences offered by the following organizations:

In April 2011, Houser was elected Vice President of the Society for Technical Communication. He will serve his term from May 2011 – May 2012, and will serve as STC President May 2012 – May 2013.

Houser has been a guest speaker at the following Society for Technical Communication Chapters:

Houser earned a M.A. in Professional Writing and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.

Mary Louise Ray

Mary Louise Ray is a co-founder of Group Wellesley, Inc. and an experienced technical writer and production manager who specializes in documentation for software, consumer electronics, medical devices, and biomedical technologies.

Ray earned a M.A. in Professional Writing from Carnegie Mellon University and a B.S. in Journalism from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University. She is a Senior Member of the Society for Technical Communication.
